Chantelle Crowell

Graduating from Central Piedmont Community

College was a defining moment in my life, a

testament to my unwavering commitment and

perseverance. Balancing the rigorous demands

of studying to become a Nurse Assistant, Notary

Public, and Medication Technician while

simultaneously caring for my six children

required immense dedication. Yet, with the

unwavering support of my beloved family by my

side, I was fortified with the strength to

overcome every obstacle. Their love and

encouragement became the cornerstone of my

success, fueling my determination to achieve my

dreams.

Writing became more than just a hobby; it became my lifeline, a sanctuary where I could retreat and let my thoughts flow freely onto the page. Inspired by the bedtime stories I shared with my children, I discovered a passion for children's literature. As an African-American woman, I recognized the importance of representation in the stories that children read. I wanted to create characters and narratives that reflected the diverse experiences and rich cultural heritage of my community.

Each word I penned was a reflection of my innermost

thoughts and experiences, woven together like threads in a tapestry. Through the art of storytelling, I found solace and meaning, transforming the ordinary moments of my life into extraordinary narratives. Each stroke of the pen was a testament to my resilience and the depth of my spirit, a celebration of the journey that had brought me to this moment.
