Corlice Burns is a devoted mother, social services professional, and storyteller whose life has been shaped by faith, resilience, love, and determination. Born on the island of Okinawa, Japan, and raised in North Carolina, she pursued higher education with a vision for building a meaningful future.
At the age of 23, she took a leap of faith and moved to Texas with the love of her life, beginning a journey that would lead her through triumphs, heartbreaks, unexpected challenges, and personal growth.
Throughout her career, Corlice has dedicated herself to serving others through her work in social services, advocating for individuals and families during some of life’s most difficult moments. Her experiences as a wife, mother, caregiver, and professional have given her a unique perspective on perseverance and the strength of the human spirit.
Through How Did I Get Here?, Corlice shares an honest and heartfelt account of the choices, relationships, struggles, and blessings that shaped a young woman’s path. She hopes readers will find encouragement to keep moving forward, even when life’s journey takes unexpected turns.
